Mid-Autumn

On the Chinese lunar calendar, it's 15th of August today, also the Mid-Autumn Festival.

i'm not sure what you mean
or rather when u say autumn
autumn is the most tender season.

The flaming red and golden
trees resolutely offering their leaves
to the crisp, astringent air

The flaming orange and yolk
moon hanging high up in the skyi

s this picture of
mature love with contemplative affection

we are to cherish? or do you
mean tender the way bruisesare sensitive to every touch?

The boys outside my window have been dwindling in numbers,
packing their kites.

Mayb they have grown up like me...

Happy Mid-Autumn !!!

I hope you guys have already tasted some mooncakes. You know... Mooncakes are a must on this day.

They are new and different flavours available. But for me, I didn't get to try out any new flavours, just the standard ones like lotus paste and yoke. Oh, and the green tea flavour as well... That's all. I wanted to try ice-cream type but I didn't buy any this year, think I'm lazy again! =)

Btw why do we have to eat mooncakes on this very day of the year?

From what I know, when the night falls (which is now), we are supposed to savour our mooncakes with chinese tea, and at the same time, behold the beautiful 'Full-moon" scenery on the dark sky.
That was for the adults.

As for kids, lantern carrying is an entertainment must for them. The kids sure enjoy themselves with their battery-operated lanterns or paper-lighted lanterns.

Hmm...
At this moment, I wonder how many others are gazing at the same moon as me.
